Russell Museum is situated conveniently in the centre of Russell village. It is the treasure house of Russell (Te Whare Taonga o Kororareka). The DVD retelling Russell's history is a must see as are archive photos from an era long gone.
There are several noteworthy and unique exhibitions for you to discover, Captain Cook's 1/5 scale model "Endeavour", a whaling boat and river waka (canoe), artifacts from Zane Grey's fishing expeditions and more.
The shop has a selection of books, special souvenirs & gifts as mementos of your visit.
