The distinctive pyramid shaped Southland Museum & Art Gallery is located in central Invercargill and features a wide range of exhibits that will interest any visitor to the scenic South. These include Beyond the Roaring 40’s, the Burt Munro exhibit and Victoriana. Possibly even more well known than our Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt, is Invercargill’s oldest resident, Henry the tuatara who is at least 110 years old. The art galleries are constantly changing with exhibitions from local, national and international artists.
