This tour runs on the lower Whanganui River, and is ideal for those with limited time, who still wish to immerse themselves briefly in our culture and natural environment.
We have two options:
1) Jet boat from our family Marae, Pungarehu (20 minutes drive from Whanganui City) up river for 45 minutes, and join our canoe guides for morning tea. After refreshments, you will receive comprehensive paddling and safety instruction before starting the waka journey downriver,
2) Jet boat from the Whanganui City Marina up river for 30 minutes, and join our canoe guides for morning tea. After refreshments, you will receive comprehensive paddling and safety instruction before starting the waka journey downriver. Easy - no driving for you!
