About

Step onto Steadfast’s wide and spacious timber decks, and step back in time for an unforgettable experience of the age of sail. Built on the lines of the Jolie Brise, a French pilot cutter from 1913, Steadfast offers guests a delightful experience of traditional sail in comfort and style. Based in French Pass, in the outer Marlborough Sounds, we cruise the coast of D’Urville Island and the farthest reaches of the outer sounds.

Guests are invited to participate in handling sail if they wish, and the pleasure of sailing this big gaff cutter will be treasured for years to come. Meals are prepared on board and feature freshly baked bread and produce from our own organic garden. Queen Charlotte Sound and Abel Tasman cruises are also available.
