We are an incorporated society based at Paekakariki on the Kapiti Coast near Wellington NZ. Devoted to the restoration, maintenance of steam and diesel locomotives together we a fleet of heritage carriages that we regularly operate on the main line.
Formed 40 years ago, today we operate a range of trips including day excursions, excursions associated with major festivals, and tours covering several days. The train is also available for private charter.
Our current main line operating steam locomotive is coal fired Ja1271 (4-8-2) built in 1956. Our main line heritage diesel is Da1431 (EMF G12) built in 1957.
We have 11 operating carriages, five of which date back 100 years.
