About

"Lost in Our Own Land" is set in the 1800's. You will experience the turmoil Maori faced as they were forced to choose between the promise of the new ways and the significance of their ancient values in times of early European settlement. Over the 3.5-hour event, you will traverse 20 acres of land (open air live theatre) with a cast of many and 180 years of New Zealand history. The Maori Village, the fortified Pa, and the Colonial Town all come to life. You will travel aboard trams and old steam trains as part of the experience. At the end of the experience, as new friendships are forged, dine on the traditional hangi (cooked beneath the ground in earthen ovens) and a colonial banquet feast.
