Well established as one of New Zealand’s leading contemporary galleries, each exhibition season is complemented by dynamic public programmes; curators' and artists' talks, school holiday programmes and workshops.
The Dowse holds a valuable and varied collection of New Zealand works and has a reputation for celebrating craft including jewellery, ceramics, glass and textiles. Collection shows are presented alongside expertly curated exhibitions of works on loan from artists and other galleries elsewhere in New Zealand and beyond.
