Stay at Wairata Station Farm-stay and fish for trout in the beautiful Waioeka River. Our fishing activities are available for guests of the farm, or those just passing through.
The river runs through our farm and we have 14 kilometres of river frontage as well as spectacular wilderness water farther upstream. There are many feisty rainbow and stealth-like browns to challenge you. The trout are up to 5 kilograms but most are 1-2 kilograms, and boy can they fight. Fishing tours are $100.00 per person with lunch included.
We can also arrange sea fishing in Gisborne or view the sharks from the safety of a shark cage.
