The Sculpture Park and Arboretum has been developed from a derelict quarry in the hills beyond Hamilton. This Arboretum park is a registered Garden of Significance. It covers 42 acres of intensely varied terrain and has 2kms of good walking tracks through regenerating native bush, woodland gardens, water features and plant collections.
The arboretum offers panoramic vistas over the broad Waikato Plains, through to intimate spaces enclosed by fragrant trees and shrubs from all parts of the world. At all times you will be able to view at least 60 original sculptures in these woodland gardens - the Waikato Sculpture Trust promotes three curated exhibitions per year designed to excite and stimulate art and garden connoiseurs alike.
