About

The entrance to the property is marked by two Draceana draco While visiting the Bay of Islands come and have a relaxing visit to Wharepuke Subtropical Garden.
Wharepuke, meaning “house on the hill” is a sub-tropical and dry climate garden featuring various unusual and exotic plants from around the world.
Quite a few species are represented by only one plant and in one case maybe the only plant in New Zealand.
A dry climate sunken garden is being developed as will be a fern area and bromeliad garden. Trees and two stone pillars sculptured by my world renowned brother, Chris Booth.
Within walking distance are the Stone Store and the Mission House, respectively New Zealand’s oldest stone and wooden buildings.
Open everyday.
