This country garden is comprised of 10 acres of immaculate lawns and carefully planned gardens. There are many interesting features including a formal vegetable potager and herb garden, croquet lawn, summerhouse and rose gardens, Mediterranean garden (Garrigue), woodland garden, bluebell wood, bog gardens and feature hedges.
The Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture Gardens Trust has rated this a Garden of National Significance and a Founding Garden. Their comments include "an exquisite garden with delightful sequence of enclosed and open spaces. The structures fit neatly into the landscape with skillful use of plant species, colour and form."
