The Frankton Walkway takes approximately 1 1/2 hours to walk from the Queenstown Gardens to the Frankton Reserve at the head of the Frankton Arm of Lake Wakatipu. It is the perfect track for a family bike ride with its flat well-defined track.
The track hugs the lakeside with spectacular views across the Frankton Arm of Lake Wakatipu to the peninsula suburb of Kelvin Heights. Then to top it all off, the Remarkables Mountain Range provide a truly majestic backdrop. The track is flanked with trees and bush ensuring some shade in the summer and a peaceful alternative for getting into town from the traffic-filled Frankton Road above.
