Jade String Quartet

Welcome to the 2nd year of Jade at The Pah. Jade String Quartet are Miranda Adams, William Hanfling, Robert Ashworth and Claudia Price, all members of the APO.

This year, the programme focuses on the last string quartets written by prominent composers. Jade will be also joined by distinguished APO musicians Nicola Baker and Annabella Leslie to bring you some rare and beautiful quintets featuring French horn and double bass.

Maurice Ravel - Quartet in F major, 1903;
Jonathan Besser - Decision time, Eve of Yum Kippur, In Seven Heaven, Wynyard Quarter;
Russell Garcia - Star Dust (Hoagy Carmichael), All the things you are (Jerome Kern);
Ludwig van Beethoven - Quartet no. 16 in F major, op. 135.

Joseph Haydn - Quartet in D minor, op.103;
Bela Bartok - Quartet no. 6, 1939;
Franz Schubert - Quartet in G major, op.161;
Russell Garcia - String Quartet, 1979.

July 1, 5:15pm
Concert Three with Annabella Leslie (double bass).
Wolfgang Mozart - Quartet in F major K590;
Anthony Ritchie - Quartet no. 2, 2003;
Antonin Dvorak - Quintet in G major, op. 77.

October 7, 5:15pm:
Concert Four with Nicola Baker (horn).
Anton Reicha - Horn Quintet op. 106;
Alexander Glazunov - Idyll for Horn and strings;
Jack Body - Three Transcriptions;
Johannes Brahms - Quartet no. 1, C minor op.51.

December 9, 5:15pm:
Concert Five.
Louis Spohr - Quartet no. 36 in E minor, op.157;
Dmitri Shostakovich - Quartet no. 15 in E flat minor, op. 144;
Giuseppe Verdi - Quartet in E minor, 1837.
