Collingwood Homestead is situated 2 hours scenic drive from Nelson City and twenty minutes drive from Takaka.
This 1904 colonial home was built as a private residence when the township of Collingwood was a thriving gold town of three thousand people. Collingwood acts as an excellent base for visitors to explore many of the Golden Bay's unique activities and natural attractions: Farewell Spit, Abel Tasman National park, Kahurangi National Park, safe swimming beaches, horse riding on Wharariki beach, scenic mail run to West Coast, Pupu Springs, trout fishing and local arts and crafts.
