The Flying Fox
The Flying Fox overlooks the Whanganui River, 45 minutes drive from Wanganui and is surrounded by the Whanganui National Park.

The legacy of both early Maori and European settlers remain here to provide a rich tapestry of stories of our history. The nearby Marae at Koriniti is a living example of Maori culture.

Our place is a certified organic property based on strong environmental principles & cultural values.
Access to us is by aerial cableway above the river, or by river taxi or canoe.

Guests can stay in either of two self-contained cottages built of recycled and natural materials overlooking the river. Or camp under the night sky in our private campsite

We also offer a three hour canoe journey on the river.
