Jo is a wildlife ranger with knowledge of the local plants and birds; Julie is a teacher; both are trampers and bird enthusiasts.

Breakfast choices include fresh fruit crepes and home-made bread.

Ribbonwood Retreat is minutes from the Franz Josef village and 10 minutes drive to the glacier; close to Okarito wetlands and beach hikes and 1/2 a day drive from Wanaka.
