Rapahoe Beach Motor Camp
10 Hawken Street,
Rapahoe
The camp is right on the only safe swimming beach in the region. It is small and quiet, with tent and power sites individually hedged, some with spectacular views, and a few cabins. A seal colony is found at one end of the beach, dolphins are often seen swimming in the surf, and surf-casting fishing is popular. The beach is a source of many stones, including greenstone.
Pets are allowed, there are stone barbecues and a children's playground, as well as an above ground swimming pool. Sports such as volleyball, badminton and petanque are catered for here.
Situated in the centre of the West Coast the camp is close to many attractions, including the Paparoa National Park, Punakaikai Pancake Rocks and Blowholes and Shantytown.
