The Native Tuatara
The tuatara is the last of a type of reptiles that was around in the days of dinosaurs. This slow moving ‘living fossil’ rarely grows larger than a 30cm, is believed to live to over 100 years old. It is found mainly on islands around New Zealand’s coast.
