Ferns
Much of New Zealand's native bush can be described as temperate rainforest. There are about 85 different species of fern to see, including huge tree ferns that can reach heights of 20 metres or more. The Silver Fern, otherwise known as the Ponga, is one of New Zealand's national symbols.
