Autumn Colours, Arrowtown
The picturesque streets of Arrowtown, 21km northeast of Queenstown, turn a golden glow in autumn as the deciduous trees which line them put on a wonderful seasonal show. Gold was also responsible for the town's establishment when prospector William Fox found the precious metal nearby in 1862.
