Government Gardens, Rotorua, North Island. Outdoor lawn bowls is one of the most popular summer sports with New Zealand’s not-so-young. The Rotorua bowling greens are part of the town's Government Gardens, providing an attractive setting for the Elizabethan-style Rotorua Museum of Art and History, (Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa) built as a thermal spa.
