Nugget Point, Southland

With its historic lighthouse and scattering of rocky islets, Nugget Point is one of the most distinctive places on the Southland coast. The area is known for its wildlife - fur seals, sea lions, sooty shearwaters, shags, yellow-eyed penguins (hoiho) and a breeding colony of gannets can all be found here.
