Nelson potter at work
There are potters scattered throughout the Nelson area and many of them welcome visitors to their workshops and galleries. The region has its own clay resources and local minerals are used to make glazes. Over the years, Nelson’s ceramic art has evolved from the earthy shapes and colours of the 60s to the highly decorated, impressionist pieces of today.
