Mangawhai, Northland
A worthwhile detour on the journey north is the loop from Kaiwaka to Mangawhai Heads, Langs Beach, Waipu Cove and the town of Waipu.
Mangawhai Heads has a surf beach on one side and a large harbour on the other.
