The spectacular Routeburn Falls
At the Routeburn Falls the river spectacularly exits from the Alpine basin of the upper Routeburn Valley and tumbles 300m to the grassy flats below in a series of jagged stepped waterfalls. The second overnight lodge is panoramically perched next to the falls. Kea, an alpine parrot, can be spotted here.
