Since losing as America's Cup Challenger in 2000, Team Prada has spent more time in Auckland than any other syndicate, hardly leaving town. In the last America's Cup, Prada challenged Team New Zealand after winning the Louis Vuitton Cup in a cliff-hanger from AmericaOne. But in the cup match, the Defender was too strong, winning 5-0. Prada has now successfully lobbied for a month-long gap between the Louis Vuitton Cup and America's Cup, to give the Challenger more time to prepare.
