Historic Kerikeri
The Kerikeri Basin is where Maori welcomed missionaries in 1819 to establish a church mission settlement. Kerikeri’s historic heart is the area around the Stone Store, which was built in 1836. Nearby is Kemp House, built in 1821, the country’s oldest wooden building. Both buildings are open to visitors every day.
