Red Rocks, Wellington
The red rocks that give Red Rocks Reserve its name were formed 200 million years ago by submarine volcanic eruptions. There is a wonderful walkway here; it follows the coastline to the seal colony at Sinclair Head. Male seals base themselves here from May and October, to fatten up for the breeding season.
