Kea, Mt Cook
The khaki-coloured feather coat of the kea, New Zealand’s sociable alpine parrot, is livened up with beautiful red underwear. You can hope to meet kea in many South Island alpine locations. They like to congregate in carparks and around waterfalls. The walk to Kea Point near Mount Cook Village is known for its kea encounters.
