Craters of the Moon
The Craters of the Moon geothermal park near Taupo is a free attraction that never fails to amaze. The large area of bubbling craters, mud pools and steam vents has been made safe for walking with a system of bridges and boardwalks. Strange mosses and lichens grow on the hot ground, giving the park an otherworldly atmosphere.
