Gannets, Cape Kidnappers
Cape Kidnappers is one of the largest mainland gannet colonies in the world. Gannets are present from August to early May and the population is estimated at around 17,000. At only 13-16 weeks old, the chicks migrate to Australia. They return to Cape Kidnappers a few years later to nest.
