Wine country, Wairarapa
The Wairarapa is an incredibly versatile wine growing region. It produces outstanding pinot noir, merlot, chardonnay, gewürztraminer, sauvignon blanc, riesling and pinot gris.
A comprehensive wine trail should include Martinborough wine village, Ponatahi Valley and Gladstone. Vineyard cafés and restaurants along the way provide great food and wine.
