Marine biologists Dan and Amy Engelhaupt bought Dolphin Watch in 2002 with the aim of furthering dolphin and whale research in the Marlborough Sounds. In addition to research conducted on daily tours, the business supports DOC and university marine mammal research projects.
The Picton-based company won the 'Innovation in Eco-tourism Award' at the 2006 Tourism Industry Awards.
