Awhitu Regional Park - Auckland
Located in the southern part of Auckland region on the Awhitu peninsula, the regional park is rich in natural history, including regenerating wetlands with fernbirds, and the culturally significant Brook Homestead.
The park has two long sandy beaches separated by a headland of soft sandstone created from the ancient wind blown sand dunes of the Awhitu Peninsula.
