Balloon over Canterbury
The central Canterbury Plains area is considered New Zealand’s premier hot air ballooning location. Flights are generally flown around day-break, when air conditions are clear, calm, cool and stable. As you drift along with the breeze, the Southern Alps become more distant and the Pacific coast emerges as a surf fringed blanket of blue.
