Matapouri Bay, Northland
Matapouri is one of Northland’s most beautiful beaches – a wide sweep of golden sand, with surf during easterly winds. It’s relatively easy to rent a beach house at Matapouri, which is just half an hour’s drive from the city of Whangarei. Otherwise you can pitch a tent or park your motorhome at the camping ground.
