Fur seal pup
The fur seal breeding season is from mid November until mid January. Mothers alternate foraging trips with feeding sessions. While they’re away, the pups play together in rock pools with objects such as seaweed and reef fish – behaviour that helps them to acquire the skills they’ll need as adults.
