1930s architecture, Napier
The city of Napier was almost totally destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1931, then rebuilt in the architectural styles of the time – Art Deco, Spanish Mission and Stripped Classical. A self-guided walking tour through the city and suburban streets is the best way to appreciate Napier’s remarkable point of difference.
