White Island
The active volcano of White Island promises a walk on the wild side, complete with sulphurous craters, hissing vents and steaming fumeroles. The adventure, which can be undertaken at any time of the year, begins with a launch trip from the coastal city of Whakatane – watch for hammerhead sharks on the way!
