Easy access to Turoa Ski Area, Mt Ruapehu
New Zealand's ski areas are located high in the mountains providing for great snow conditions, meaning you'll be driving to and from your chosen ski resort each day. Ski resorts have well maintained roads with some - such as Coronet Peak, Turoa and Whakapapa - sealed all the way to the summit. Other ski fields have well maintained gravel access roads. Don't forget , many also offer chain fitting services, should they ever be required. Care should be taken at all times when driving on the steep alpine roads. Conditions can change rapidly and you should take heed of all local information and warnings.
