Paragliding, Southern Alps
Paragliding is one of the most exhilarating aerial sports on the planet. Pilots are suspended in a comfortable harness under a soft, air-inflated wing, and can stay aloft for several hours at a time. There are paragliding schools in Tauranga, Rotorua, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, Queenstown, Christchurch and Wanaka. Paragliding doesn’t require a high level of fitness, just a head for heights.
