Vineyard, Waiheke Island
There are more than 25 wineries and vineyards on Waiheke, a large island that’s only 30 minutes by ferry from the city of Auckland. Waiheke’s climate is generally warmer than the mainland, with less humidity and rain and more sunshine hours. Cabernet blends are the island’s speciality.
