Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island
Halfmoon Bay, also known as Oban, is the only settlement on Stewart Island. It’s the launching point for wilderness hiking adventures in Rakiura National Park, which accounts for around 85 percent of the island’s land area. The island can be accessed by ferry service from Bluff and by an air service from Invercargill.
