View of Wellington from Mt Victoria
The best view of Wellington city and harbour is from the lookout at the top of Mt Victoria, just east of the city centre. You can walk up or catch a bus. The tree covered slopes of the mountain were used as a filming location for the first Lord of the Rings movie, The Fellowship of the Ring.
