This itinerary is designed to introduce you to some of the delights on offer in the south, and has a particularly strong wildlife focus. Beginning with three nights in Dunedin, you have time to visit the beautiful Otago Peninsula with its resident penguins and albatross, as well as exploring this historic city. You then head to the very south of New Zealand, to the untouched Stewart Island, where you will hopefully encounter the native kiwi. Finally you journey to Te Anau on the edge of the spectacular Fiordland National Park. By incorporating a complimentary wildlife tour, as well as securing exclusive rates on our accommodation, we are able to offer a saving of £80 per person.

Day 1: Arrive into Dunedin and enjoy three nights at historic and welcoming Fletcher Lodge.
Day 2: A complimentary wildlife tour is included for your enjoyment today, getting you up close and personal with some of the inhabitants of the Otago Peninsula.
Day 3: A day to explore historic Dunedin, its galleries and architecture.
Day 4: Pick up your rental vehicle and journey south to Invercargill. We can arrange for you to either fly or travel by boat out to Stewart Island, where you will enjoy two nights.
Day 5: A full day to explore some of the many walking trails, and to observe rare birdlife such as the kiwi.
Day 6: Journey back to the mainland and drive to Te Anau on the edge of Fiordland National Park.
Day 7: A day to explore Fiordland, taking one of the spectacular boat cruises on option.
Day 8: End your journey in the Southland or continue north towards Queenstown to extend your trip.
