Bathing in New Zealand's outdoors

Magic Cottage & Takou River Lodge, Kerikeri
Magic Cottage and Takou River Lodge is a secluded riverside retreat offering three boutique self-catering cottages amid five acres of sub-tropical gardens, on the banks of the Takou River, upstream from the deserted Takou Bay. Tangowahine Farm, Kaipara
Relax and unwind at this four-star Qualmark-rated upmarket farmstay set in a 250 acre working farm that is central to Dargaville, Kaikohe and Whangarei. Accommodation options on the farm include accommodation within the main house, a self contained luxury cottage and a detached unit with ensuite. The Valley Retreat, Matauri Bay
The hot tub at The Valley is set amongst native bush and completely separate to the accommodation areas. The water is pumped directly from an onsite spring and is heated using a specially made furnace, which burns gorse (a farm weed) from the surrounding area. Being so isolated, the eco-friendly retreat offers picturesque starry nights and the sound of silence. Combined, this can be a totally relaxing experience, particularly if guests partake in one of the many healing workshops or retreats on the Valley’s program.

Tom’s Cottages, Havelock North

Omahau Downs
Omahau is a 188 Ha (470 acre) high country farm, situated one kilometre from Twizel township, currently grazing merino sheep and a few cattle. Centre Hill Cottage Farm
Centre Hill Organic Farm sits elevated above the fertile farmland of Totara Valley, in the Central South Island, and close to wonderful fishing rivers and ski-fields. A special feature is the outdoor bath tub, set into a bed of stones with spots for candles, with hot and cold water and views over farmland to the setting sun and the Southern Alps. Visitors can choose a range of organic produce, including organic venison and beef grown on the farm.
