Hot Hospital

Rotorua is known as New Zealand's spa city with several public recreational spas. The city is also home to QE Health, whose medical spa is a highly-specialised treatment centre for people with arthritis, rheumatism and other disorders involving movement. The hospital has provided treatment since the 1950s, which these days includes massage, wraps and conventional physiotherapy. Geothermal fluid is also used for space heating and hot water heating in the hospital.
