Renowned Kiwi chef to open Auckland tapas bar

Acclaimed New Zealand chef Peter Gordon will launch his modern take on an authentic Spanish tapas bar in Auckland this November.
Located on Federal Street, in the heart of Auckland city, the new bar will offer a Spanish 'tasting' style of dining, complete with premium Spanish and European wines.
Peter Gordon, whose popular dine by Peter Gordon restaurant is located across the road, says he is passionate about traditional tapas bars and the style of dining. Gordon is responsible for the design of the menu and has selected the Spanish name Bellota for the new bar.
'Bellota will be the most authentic Spanish food based tapas bar in Auckland. I travel to Spain a lot and consult to 'Foods from Spain'- the government department,' says Gordon.
Restaurant Manager Brendan Turner says the bar's authenticity and central location within the SKYCITY complex will mean it has appeal for locals and international visitors alike.
'The offering is entirely different: a fabulous Tapas-style menu created by arguably New Zealand's best known chef, combined with an impressive list of European wines, in a stunning setting, ' says Turner.
