Maori Tour Makes Dream List

An exclusive Maori culture tour has been named as one of the World's Best Day Trips by international magazine Conde Nast Traveler.

"Secrets of the Maori", which takes visitors on a personally guided trip through the North island's Rotorua region, has been listed in the Dream List of travel experiences in the December issue of Conde Nast.

It named the tour as part of a global 40, one of a kind, day trips of a lifetime.

Operators, Sonny and Ria Galvin, include a day trip to Mokoia Island in the middle of Lake Rotorua, a visit to Sonny's Marae, a sacred Maori burial ground, and the sharing of Maori songs, traditions and legends.

The tour costs US$645 and includes all transportation and personal guide for two people.
