Air NZ launches style in the sky guide

06 Nov 2008

Passengers flying with Air New Zealand can now arrive at their destination looking fresh and stylish thanks to help from UK television style guru Gok Wan.

The 'How to look good naked' star has teamed up with Air New Zealand to help passengers perfect their in-flight chic. In a new guide called 'Style in the Sky' Gok and Air New Zealand cabin crew share tips and tricks aimed at helping passengers to look good and feel fabulous from check-in to landing.

In-flight chic
The guide, aimed at business and leisure travellers, covers everything from packing advice to in-flight chic, hair and beauty tips.

"Arriving at your destination looking fresh and fabulous is important, whether flying for business or pleasure. If anyone knows how to do long haul travel right it's Air New Zealand," says Gok.

"With its fresh and relaxed Kiwi style, I've loved working with them on this brilliant collection of hints and tips, so you can step off the plane looking pulled together, gorgeous and ready for anything."

Enhancing the experience
Air New Zealand's General Manager, UK and Europe, Scott Carr said the airline was always looking for new ways to enhance the flying experience for passengers.

"This guide is all about feeling confident and comfortable whether you're travelling to Hong Kong or LA for an important business meeting, or to New Zealand for the holiday of a lifetime," he said.

Gok's top travelling tips include:

  • layering clothing in block colours for simplicity
  • taking a change of clothes like a lightweight track suit
  • wearing a pashmina for snuggling down on long haul flights
  • using rich hand cream with Vitamins A, C and D on feet,
    elbows and hands
  • removing makeup as it clogs pores in the dry atmosphere
  • tying long hair in a side ponytail for comfort during sleep
  • leaving the hair product off until just before landing.
